Barbara Harkness has extensive experience in business office management, accounting, and human resources. Barbara began their career in 2006 as Office Manager/Accountant/HR for Carson & Co. LLC, where they managed a small CPA firm and provided administration and accounting services for various clients. In 2011, they became Self Employed and provided complete bookkeeping, human resources, and payroll services for various clients. In 2014, they worked for Independent Bookkeeping and Consulting, providing the same services. From 2015 to 2022, they worked for AE7 Pittsburgh LLC as Controller and Human Resources, helping to establish the first US office for the Dubai affiliate. During this time, they set up QuickBooks Enterprise, created a handbook, instituted a 401(K) plan, and established relationships with local partners. Barbara also handled accounting work including accounts payable/receivable, check runs, billings, reconciliations, pre-paid schedules, and month/year-end closing. Barbara is currently working for CapSen Robotics as Business Office Manager.
Barbara Harkness holds an MBA in International Business from Point Park University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing from Robert Morris University. Barbara has also obtained a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Enterprise Solutions Certification from Intuit in July 2014, a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Online Certification from Intuit in May 2014, a QuickBooks ProAdvisor 2014 Certification from Intuit in April 2014, and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor 2013 Certification from Intuit.
