Shruti Katiyar

Shruti Katiyar has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Shruti started their career as a Summer Intern at Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd in 2005 and later interned at Lambda Therapeutic Research in 2006. Shruti then worked as an Analyst at Kinapse Ltd. in the Medical Writing & Regulatory Affairs department from 2009 to 2011.

In 2011, Shruti joined GVK Biosciences as a Sr. Medical Writer, specializing in Clinical Research & Regulatory Writing. Shruti transitioned to a volunteer role as a Marketing Manager at the Health Technology Forum from January to May 2015.

Afterwards, Shruti joined Santen, where they served as a Contracts and Procurement Manager, overseeing and managing contracting and procurement activities for multiple R&D projects. Their role included supporting process improvements, issuing and reviewing RFI's and RFP's, and negotiating with suppliers.

In 2015, Shruti joined Genentech as a Business Manager/Sourcing Manager. During their tenure, they contributed to the sourcing and procurement strategies of the company.

In 2020, Shruti moved to Acceleron Pharma as a Sr. Manager of Clinical Research Outsourcing. In this role, they collaborated with various stakeholders to develop outsourcing strategies for clinical studies, led RFP and bid evaluation processes, negotiated contracts, and ensured vendor performance.

Most recently, Shruti joined Cara Therapeutics as an Associate Director of Procurement in February 2023, where they are responsible for procurement activities.

Shruti Katiyar has a diverse education history. Shruti first obtained their Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Babu Banarsidas National Institute of Technology and Management in 2007. Shruti then pursued a Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) degree, specializing in Pharmacology, at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani from 2007 to 2009. In 2008, they enrolled in the Bioinformatics Institute of India (BII) and completed a post-graduate diploma in the industry program of drug design and patenting. Seeking further specialization, Shruti attended San Jose State University from 2014 to 2016 and successfully earned a Master of Biotechnology degree.
