Sreedhar Akula has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Sreedhar began their career at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited in 2004 as an R&D Scientist, specializing in process development and purification of recombinant therapeutic proteins. In 2005, they joined Wockhardt Ltd. as an Executive (Bioprocess), where they focused on GMP manufacturing of recombinant human Insulin.
Akula then moved to Piramed Pharma in 2007, working as a Research Scientist. In this role, they provided biochemical screening support for drug discovery projects, particularly in the development of small molecule therapeutics for cancer. Sreedhar utilized various screening technologies and techniques, such as SPA, TR-FRET, FP, and high throughput screening.
In 2008, Akula transitioned to Piramal Pharma Solutions as a Protein Scientist. Sreedhar was responsible for troubleshooting and implementing single-use technologies and equipment with disposable flow paths. Sreedhar also served as a Senior Scientist in 2013 and as a New Process Introduction Manager from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they led ADC technology transfers, scale-up projects, and successful GMP manufacturing campaigns. Sreedhar played a key role in designing equipment and applying safeguards for consistent product quality.
Akula's most recent position is at CARBOGEN AMCIS since 2016, where they serve as the Project Manager for Development Programs. Sreedhar manages complex and niche HIPO small/large molecule manufacturing projects, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines. Sreedhar also leads the development of processes for complex biological molecules and mentors project team members. Sreedhar has successfully overseen technology transfers and delivered GMP manufacturing campaigns.
Throughout their career, Akula has demonstrated expertise in project management, process development, technology transfer, and GMP manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry.
Sreedhar Akula completed their M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Barkatullah University in Bhopal, India from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, they took a Mini MBA course for the Pharma and Biotech industry at Management Centre Europe (MCE) in Brussels, Belgium. The start and end years for this course were not provided.
