This role is based in Redwood City, CA and will report to the Corporate Controller.

You will…

  • Manage all aspects of inventory and cost accounting functions for Carbon both at
  • Corporate headquarters and international locations
  • Partner with manufacturing operations to develop and maintain accurate standard costs
  • Manage monthly and quarterly close process including preparing journal entries involving significant estimation (inventory reserves), reviewing standard journal entries (labor and overhead allocations, in transit accrual, top side entries as needed), reviewing inventory and fixed asset reconciliations, and reviewing fixed asset roll forward
  • Prepare cost of sales analysis including evaluating manufacturing variances and purchase price variances
  • Prepare labor and overhead allocation assessment and make recommendations to leadership regarding appropriate labor and overhead allocation amounts
  • Collaborate and develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners including but not limited to manufacturing, supply chain, materials, and operations on a regular basis
  • Support cycle counts, annual physical inventory counts, and monitoring of inventory existence at third party logistics facilities and supplier sites
  • Support the annual financial statement audit by answering auditor questions, leading process walkthroughs, and pulling evidence to support audit testing
  • Provide inventory and fixed asset inputs for financial reporting for quarterly and financial reporting
  • Manage a team of two, train, and develop team members and provide periodic feedback regarding performance

Education and experience...

  •  Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Accounting, or Finance).
  • 8+ years of cost and inventory accounting experiences. 
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle or equivalent ERP system.
  • Experience establishing and optimizing reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Experience in enabling and managing teams
  • Experience in designing or improving processes

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation.  The pay range for this position is $166,000 - $248,000.  Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Redwood City office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.
