Ziad Ali

Director, Angiographic Core Laboratory at Cardiovascular Research Foundation

Ziad Ali has a range of experience in the field of cardiology. Ziad is currently serving as the Director of the DeMatteis Cardiovascular Institute and the Director of Investigational Interventional Cardiology at St Francis Hospital & Heart Center, positions they have held since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of the Angiographic Core Laboratory at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, starting in September 2016. Ziad also served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Attending Interventional Cardiologist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center from September 2012 to April 2021.

Ziad Ali has an extensive education history in the field of medicine. Ziad obtained their MB ChB (Hons) with Distinction from The University of Sheffield in 2000. Ziad then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - DPhil in Medicine from the University of Oxford, graduating in 2007. Following this, they completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2007 to 2009. Ziad furthered their education with a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they completed a Fellowship in Interventional and Structural Cardiology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from 2011 to 2012.

Ziad Ali has also acquired various certifications and memberships. Ziad is board-certified in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Ziad holds board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases and is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Ziad is also board-certified in Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Ziad Ali is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons. Ziad is a licensed physician with certifications from the General Medical Council, the Medical Board Of California, the New York State Department of Health, the Texas Medical Board, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
