Dirk Muehlhoff

Dirk Muehlhoff has over 20 years of experience in the medical technology industry. From 1999 to 2003, they served as a Laborleiter/Team Manager at Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH, overseeing various projects in ophthalmology, laser scanning microscopy, and projection optics technology. In 2003, they joined Carl Zeiss Meditec AG and became the Director of R&D for Refractive Surgery, where they developed the femtosecond laser technology used for SMILE minimally invasive refractive corrections. Dirk later took on the role of Director of Product Generation Refractive Laser, managing R&D and CA departments and coordinating with QA/QM and Regulatory Affairs. Since 2010, Dirk has been the Head of Refractive Surgery at ZEISS Medical Technology, responsible for the global refractive survey business, strategy development and execution, and leading a cross-functional team in shaping the market with innovative digital workflow solutions and benchmark services.

Dirk Muehlhoff received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Unternehmensführung/General Management from the University of Augsburg in 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Diplom-Physiker degree in Physics from RWTH Aachen University between 1990 and 1996.
