Jerry Tomberlin

Provost and Vice President, Academics at Carleton University

Jerry Tomberlin has a long and distinguished career in academia. Jerry started in 1982 as an Assistant Professor at Baruch College before becoming the Dean and Professor at Concordia University's John Molson School of Business in 1984. In 2008, Jerry transitioned to Carleton University, where they served as the Dean of the Sprott School of Business until 2017. From 2017 to 2023, they held the position of Provost & Vice-President (Academic) at Carleton University. Currently, they are the Interim President and Vice-Chancellor at Carleton University.

Jerry Tomberlin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics from Florida State University in 1971. Jerry then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan, which they completed in 1973. Jerry furthered their education at Harvard University, where they attained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Statistics in 1982.
