Peter Little serves as the interim leader of P&O Cruises and Carnival Australia, which represents leading cruise brands in the Australian and New Zealand market, including Carnival Cruise Line, Cunard, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises Australia, P&O Cruises World Cruising, Princess Cruises and Seabourn.
Carnival Australia is part of the world’s largest cruise company, Carnival Corporation & plc, and the industry leader in the region. Three of its cruise lines – P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Cruises, and Carnival Cruise Line – are the only global cruise companies to base ships from Australia year-round. Together these brands account for approximately 70% of the Australian and New Zealand cruise passenger market, delivering memorable cruise holiday experiences close to home and further abroad.
Peter joined the Carnival Australia executive team in 2008. He is the Senior Vice President for Guest Experience for P&O Cruises with responsibility for Hotel Operations, Customer Service, Onboard Revenue, Supply Chain, Port Operations and Travel Services. Peter also manages strategic Port Development in the region. Peter assumed this newly created role in March of 2016.
Previously, Peter was Senior Vice President for Fleet Operations with oversight of shipboard marine and technical functions for the P&O Cruises fleet. He also managed port and shore operations for the wider group in this region. Prior to moving to Sydney, Peter held the position of Fleet Technical Manager at sister company Carnival UK in Southampton, managing their Worldwide Fleet.
Trained as a Marine Engineer at South Tyneside Maritime College, Peter started his career on cargo ships before making the transition to the cruise industry in 1991. His sea going career spanned some 17 years sailing in every rank from Cadet to Chief Engineer. He made the move into shore management in 2004 and has held various management and executive roles across the Corporation’s global headquarters.
