Shannon Smith

Shannon 'Monks' Smith is an experienced hip hop artist and visual artist. They have worked as an Artist in Residence for Carriageworks' Solid Ground program, mentored First Nations students in hiphop songwriting and performance, and created politically charged hip hop music with Fringe Dwellers Music. In addition, they have also facilitated workshops for Indigenous youth at organizations such as Noffs Foundation and developed hip hop songwriting programs for high school students. Their diverse skills also include catalog photography and layout and design work.
