Allison Brenner has extensive experience in research and public health. Allison served as the Senior Director of Quality and Population Health at Cascadia Health, where they conducted research to identify risk and promotive factors of health and healthcare utilization among individuals in Portland with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. Allison leveraged data to provide better services and care, identify those with the greatest need, and reduce health inequities. Prior to their role at Cascadia Health, they worked as a Research Investigator at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research from 2014 to 2018. Allison also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan School of Public Health from 2012 to 2014, where they were part of the Center for Social Epidemiology and Population Health and the Center for Integrative Approaches to Health Disparities. Earlier in their career, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan School of Public Health from 2007 to 2012, focusing on neighborhood effects on health and behavior in at-risk adolescents and young adults. Allison also served as a Graduate Student Instructor from 2009 to 2011.
Allison Brenner began their education journey by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Wesleyan University, which they completed between 1998 and 2002. Allison then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from Yale University School of Public Health, which they completed from 2005 to 2007. Afterwards, they went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, completing their studies from 2007 to 2012.
