Sarah Karber has a strong background in spiritual care and pastoral work. Sarah most recently served as the Campus Director of Spiritual Care at Cassia - An Augustana | Elim Affiliation since June 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Chaplain at Augustana Care from September 2017 to June 2019. Sarah also gained experience as a Chaplain Resident at Fairview Health Services from August 2016 to August 2017. Earlier in their career, they served as a Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Boone, IA from July 2012 to June 2016 and as a Pastoral Fellow at Belle Meade United Methodist Church from August 2009 to May 2012. Sarah's diverse work experience also includes roles at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, where they worked as a Museum Specialist from August 2008 to July 2009 and as a Museum Technician from May 2007 to August 2008.

Sarah Karber has a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University, which was obtained from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Art from Coe College between 2003 and 2007. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as being a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) from the Association of Professional Chaplains in 2020 and being an Ordained Elder in Full Connection from the United Methodist Church in 2013.
