Tim Beale

Tim Beale is an experienced software developer with a strong background in Java and network solutions. Currently serving as a RiskScape Software Developer at Catalyst since 2017, Tim specializes in the open-source RiskScape Engine, collaborating with researchers to implement scientific models into risk assessment pipelines. Previously, Tim held various roles at Allied Telesis from 2002 to 2016, including Principal Software Engineer, where Tim led significant projects such as the development of the SBx8100 chassis and VCStack Plus feature. Tim's other roles involved enhancing the VCS solution, working on Linux-based development for the AlliedWare Plus architecture, and addressing field issues related to network protocols. Tim earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Computer Science from the University of Canterbury from 2000 to 2002.
