John Munthali has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. John began their career at Special Olympics as a Staff Accountant, where they were responsible for financial statement preparation and account reconciliation. John then moved on to Counterpart International as a Field Accounting Manager, where they prepared financial reports and performed audits to ensure compliance and efficiency. Following that, they joined The Aspen Institute as a Grants Administrator, managing grant agreements and financial reporting. Most recently, John has been with Catholic Relief Services, holding various roles including Deputy Chief of Party and Chief of Party. John played a key role in the rebuilding efforts after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, establishing management systems for the AIDSRelief Program and coordinating the transfer of a hospital to a temporary location.
John Munthali earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from the same institution, completing it in 2007. In 1996, John achieved the ACCA qualification from ZCAS, where they studied Accounting from 1993 to 1996. Their educational journey started at Zambia Insurance Business College from 1990 to 1992, where they earned a Diploma in Finance Administration with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General.
