Gary Maki

Gary Maki has extensive experience in human resources and has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Gary is currently serving as the Director of Human Resources at Catholic United Financial since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at TruStone Financial Credit Union for eight years, where they held the position of Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources. During their time at TruStone, Gary led a team of eight professionals and oversaw HR operations for 23 branches in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Before joining TruStone, Gary worked as a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner/Manager at Famous Dave's of America from 2013 to 2014. Gary also served as a Human Resources Manager at Anchor Bank from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, Gary worked as a Human Resources Consultant at Genesis10 from 2011 to 2012.

Earlier in their career, Gary held positions at Piper Jaffray, where they worked as a Research Operations Manager from 2007 to 2008 and as a Sr. HR Manager/Business Line HR Director/Partner from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Senior HR Generalist at US Bank from 2000 to 2003 and as the Director of Human Resources at Erickson Oil Products d/b/a Freedom Valu Centers from 1995 to 2000.

With their wealth of experience and expertise, Gary Maki has shown their ability to lead HR teams, develop strategic initiatives, manage complex legal issues, and drive organizational alignment.

Gary Maki obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from the University of Minnesota Duluth between 1984 and 1988. Additionally, in January 2005, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
