Kiely McFarlane

Kiely McFarlane has a diverse work experience spanning various research and analyst roles. Kiely has recently been working as a Social Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher at Cawthron Institute since January 2019. Prior to that, they were a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia from September 2013 to November 2019. Their role as a Research Assistant involved contributing to projects on water governance and community engagement. Before that, Kiely worked as an Analyst at Auckland Council from May 2012 to November 2013, where they conducted data collection and analysis on various topics. Kiely also has experience as a Tutor at the University of Auckland, teaching undergraduate geography and science communication courses.

Kiely McFarlane began their education at Carmel College from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a University Entrance qualification. Kiely then attended The University of Auckland from 2007 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Geography. In 2010, Kiely continued at The University of Auckland, completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geography. Afterwards, from 2011 to 2012, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Geography at The University of Auckland. Most recently, Kiely McFarlane attended The University of British Columbia from 2014 to 2019, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Resource Management, Environment, and Sustainability.
