Norman Kane Ceng Mimeche

Norman Kane has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Beginning in 1994 as an Industrial Placement Student at BSA Technologies Ltd, they gained experience in various design departments, including mechanical, electrical, and automation. Norman also worked on CAD systems and gained production planning and management experience.

Kane went on to work as a Mechanical Engineer at BSA Technologies Ltd, being responsible for various tooling design projects. Norman then joined AVX as a Mechanical Engineer, where they managed equipment installation and upgrade projects.

Moving to Seagate Technology, Kane took on the role of Senior Equipment Engineer, responsible for improving operational efficiency and leading machine upgrades and maintenance projects.

In 2007, Kane joined Project Design Engineers Ltd as a Senior Engineer and later became a Project Engineer, managing multi-discipline project engineering teams and providing technical input on projects.

Kane then worked at MWS Equipment as an Applications Manager and Senior Technical Manager, overseeing technical aspects of projects. Norman continued their career at MCCLOSKEY INTERNATIONAL LTD as a Senior Technical Manager.

Currently, Kane is employed at CDE Group as Global SmartTech Manager and Head of Global Support, responsible for providing global support and managing SmartTech initiatives at the company.

Norman Kane CEng MIMechE began their education at Ballycastle High School. After completing their secondary education, they attended Coleraine Technical College from 1990 to 1992, earning a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering.

Continuing their academic journey, Norman attended Ulster University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a BEng (Hons) degree in Engineering.

In 1998, Norman enrolled at Queen's University Belfast and pursued a part-time Post Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Systems Management, completing the program in 2001.

With this educational background, Norman has developed a strong foundation in engineering and manufacturing systems management. Norman has acquired extensive knowledge and expertise in these fields, making him a qualified professional as a CEng (Chartered Engineer) and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE).
