Jean-Francois Ripoll

Jean-Francois Ripoll is a highly experienced researcher in the field of plasma physics, currently serving as Director of Research and Senior Research Scientist at CEA since June 2010, with expertise in modeling and simulation of atmospheric and magnetospheric plasmas. In addition to this role, Jean-Francois Ripoll holds positions as Associate Senior Research Scientist at the Laboratoire de la Matière sous Conditions Extrêmes (LMCE) and the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay. Previous experiences include a Staff Research & Development Engineer position at Saint-Gobain and Research Scientist roles at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Stanford University. Jean-Francois Ripoll earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Université de Bordeaux and an HDR from École Normale Supérieure.
