Head Of Research at CEAT

Dr. Sambhu Bhadra has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and research institutions. Dr. Sambhu began their career at Bengal Waterproof Limited in India, where they worked as an Organizer, focusing on compounding, testing, technical troubleshooting, new product development, quality control, and reverse engineering of elastomeric products.

Dr. Bhadra then joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur as a Senior Research Fellow, where they conducted research on the preparation, properties, processing, and applications of polyaniline and its composites. Dr. Sambhu'sachievements include developing new polymerization techniques for polyaniline, establishing the relationship between glass to rubber transition temperature (Tg) and polyaniline structure, and examining the structural changes of polyaniline due to heat treatment and electron beam irradiation.

Dr. Sambhu later moved to the Department of Polymer & Nano Science and Technology at Chonbuk National University in South Korea, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Here, their research focused on fuel cells, nanocomposites, conducting materials, and synthesis. Dr. Sambhu developed a new class of polymeric membrane for high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and created a floor heating fluid from aqueous dispersion of conducting particles.

Dr. Bhadra then continued their postdoctoral research at the School of Polymers and High-Performance Materials at the University of Southern Mississippi in the USA. Dr. Sambhu'sresearch in this role included nano-characterizations, nanocomposites, thin film, coating, solar cells, and contact lenses. Dr. Sambhu achieved the development of PDMS-based hollow nanoparticles for contact lens application, a method for nano-characterization of printed ink on plastic film, and improvement of the efficiency of organic solar cells by the addition of organic-inorganic hybrid nanoparticles.

Dr. Sambhu later joined Syngene International Limited, a contract research organization, as a Research Investigator. In this role, they led a group of chemists in conducting contract research, making work plans, writing research proposals, and conducting technical discussions with clients.

After that, Dr. Bhadra worked at Steer Engineering Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior Manager. Here, they headed the polymer laboratory and managed good laboratory practices, provided training, introduced new equipment, developed analytical methods, led projects, and collaborated with other organizations. Dr. Sambhu'skey achievements in this role included initiating and completing the NABL accreditation for the laboratory and developing jute-PP composites using special extrusion techniques and creating prototype products.

Dr. Sambhu then joined A.Schulman Asia as a Process Technology Manager, where they managed process technology and was responsible for various tasks related to polymer research.

Currently, Dr. Bhadra is the Head of Research at CEAT Tyres Limited, where they oversee research activities.

Dr. Sambhu Bhadra completed their education in various fields. Dr. Sambhu obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in innovation management from The ICFAI University, Tripura in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a post graduate diploma in intellectual property from the National Law School of India University from 2013 to 2016. Dr. Bhadra also holds a PhD in Polymer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, which they completed from 2004 to 2008. Dr. Sambhu earned a Master of Technology degree in Rubber Technology from the same institute from 2000 to 2002. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry with Specialization in Organic Chemistry from the University of Calcutta, Calcutta, India from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Sambhu'sundergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Sciences with honors in Chemistry which they earned from the University of Calcutta, Calcutta, India from 1994 to 1997. Dr. Bhadra also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification, although details about the institution and date of obtaining this certification are not available.
