Shabnam Pourhassani

Shabnam Pourhassani has a diverse work experience starting with their role as a Principal Investigator at Cedars-Sinai since 2015. Shabnam'sresearch interests revolve around acute post-surgical pain, reducing the transition from acute to chronic pain, and mitigating opioid use disorder associated with acute pain management. Additionally, they are a Medical Staff member at Cedars-Sinai since 2015. In 2022, they became a Founding Member of the American Board of Integrative Infertility (ABOII). Shabnam has also served as a Medical Staff member at the California Rehabilitation Institute since 2019. From 2008 to 2022, they worked at the Newport Wellness Group, where they held the positions of Integrative Primary Care Provider and Director of Clinical Operations. During their career, they have also been a Member of the Board of Directors at the Lestonnac Free Clinic from 2015 to 2016 and served as the Director of Integrative Medicine and Reproductive Acupuncture at the Reproductive Fertility Center from 2014 to 2016.

Shabnam Pourhassani has a diverse education history. Shabnam obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Integrative Medicine, Acupuncture, and Chinese Medicine from South Baylo University in 2008. In 2015, they completed intensive Labor & Delivery training in acupuncture at NYU Lutheran Medical Center. Shabnam is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Integrative Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science. In addition to their academic degrees, Shabnam has obtained several certifications, including the Open School Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety from IHI in 2023 and the Biomedical Investigators and Key Personnel certification from the CITI Program in April 2023. Shabnam has also obtained certifications in various specialties such as Pediatrics Integrative Medicine, Nutritional Pain Management, Clinical Mind-Body Medicine, and Certified Hypnotherapist. Shabnam holds several professional licenses, including the California State License for Acupuncture and the CA State Appointed Qualified Medical Evaluator. Shabnam is also a Fellow (FABORM) in Integrative Reproductive Medicine certified by the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.
