Michael Croix

Principal Investigator at National Science Foundation

Michael Croix is an accomplished inventor and entrepreneur with extensive experience in innovative product development and intellectual property licensing. As the Principal Investigator at the National Science Foundation since May 2021, Michael leads a Phase I and II SBIR grant focused on a sunscreen SPF indicator. Michael is also the Founder and CEO of SunFly Brands, Inc., where efforts are directed towards creating UV-sensitive color-changing cosmetic inks to assist in sunscreen application, leveraging expertise in photochromics. From 2000 to 2016, Michael served as President of Lucid Designs, specializing in the development and licensing of intellectual property. Prior military service includes a role as a Machine Gunner in the United States Marine Corps. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and has pursued medical studies at the University of California, Davis.
