Job Description

Celestial AI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of IT to lead our Cloud Transformation and Information Security Transformation initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the technological future of our company.

The Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and management of the company's Cloud Transformation and Information Security Transformation efforts. This role requires a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to drive change across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading large-scale IT transformations, with a focus on cloud solutions and robust information security practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Cloud Transformation:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
  • Lead the migration of on-premises infrastructure and applications to cloud-based solutions.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with cloud service providers.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of cloud services.
  • Implement best practices for cloud architecture, security, and operations.
  1. Information Security Transformation:
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the company’s information security program.
  • Oversee the design and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Lead incident response efforts and ensure timely resolution of security breaches.
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, ensuring the organization is protected against evolving risks.
  1. Leadership and Management:
  • Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide regular updates to executive management on the progress of IT transformations and key metrics.
  • Mentor and develop IT staff, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
  1. Strategic Planning and Governance:
  • Develop and implement IT governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of IT initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with IT transformations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leading cloud transformation initiatives and managing cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong background in information security, including risk management, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar are highly desirable.

For California location:

As an early startup experiencing explosive growth, we offer an extremely attractive total compensation package, inclusive of competitive base salary and a generous grant of our valuable early-stage equity.  The target base salary for this role is approximately $225,000.00 - $245,000.00. The base salary offered may be slightly higher or lower than the target base salary, based on the final scope as determined by the depth of the experience and skills demonstrated by candidate in the interviews.
