Matt Goddeeris

VP & Head, Biology at Cellarity

Matt Goddeeris is the current Vice President and Head of Biology at Cellarity. Matt has over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, with a focus on translational research and drug development.

Goddeeris started their career as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Lab of Kevin Campbell at the University of Iowa, where they worked on disease modeling and extending the fundamental understanding of muscular dystrophies.

Matt then spent four years at Mitobridge, Inc., where they led the biology of a program from discovery to clinical trials for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Matt also oversaw IND report writing, collaboration with academic partners and patient advocacy groups, and clinical biomarker discovery efforts.

After Mitobridge, Goddeeris spent three years at Eloxx Pharmaceuticals as Vice President of Research. In this role, they oversaw non-clinical and pre-clinical research, as well as program management and clinical supply for a Phase 2 trial.

Most recently, Goddeeris has been at Cellarity for just over a year, where they are currently the Vice President of Biology and Head of Exploratory Biology.

Matt Goddeeris has a PhD from Duke University in Cell and Developmental Biology and a BS from Michigan State University in Biochemistry/Biotechnology. Matt also has a GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Biologics (ICH Focus) from CITI Program, a division of BRANY.
