Mallory Knodel

Mallory Knodel has extensive work experience in the field of technology and digital rights advocacy. Mallory is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at the Center for Democracy & Technology since March 2020. Additionally, they are a Member of the Internet Architecture Board (IETF) from March 2022. Mallory has also been an Advisory Board member for the Open Technology Fund since June 2021. In the past, they have held positions such as a Board Member at eQualitie starting from January 2013 and an Advisor at the Freedom Online Coalition from June 2013 until March 2022. Mallory also served as the Head Of Digital at ARTICLE 19 from January 2018 to February 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Technology Specialist at the Association for Progressive Communications from January 2012 to December 2017. Mallory began their career as a self-employed Communications and Technology Consultant from 2007 to 2011.

Mallory Knodel holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Science Education from The City University of New York and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics and Mathematics from Drake University. Additionally, Mallory Knodel has obtained certifications as a Keynote Speaker at the Open Source Summit North America in 2023, awarded by The Linux Foundation, and as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)².
