Steven B.

Director, Strategic Programs at Center for Internet Security

Steven B. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and data analytics. Steven is the Founder of Cortex Cyber LLC, a position they started in February 2023. Prior to that, they were the Director of Strategic Programs at the Center for Internet Security starting in June 2022. From August 2020 to June 2022, they served as the Director of the International Association of Certified ISAOs (IACI). In 2021, they completed the 360/Digital Sherlocks Training Program at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab. From November 2017 to February 2020, they worked as a Strategic Advisor in Cyber Security & Data Analytics at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Steven was previously the Manager of Cyber Intelligence at the Federal Reserve System from May 2015 to November 2017. Steven also held roles at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as a Cyber Intelligence Program Manager from 2011 to 2015 and at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as Deputy Division Leader/Associate Program Leader from 2002 to 2011, where they established a division-wide training program and managed a team of software developers.

Steven B. has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Math from the University of California, Davis. Steven has also completed their MBA degree from Saint Mary's College of California. In addition, they pursued graduate studies in National Security Policy at Texas A&M University.

Steven B. holds certifications in Project Management (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in April 2010. Steven has also obtained a certification in Cyber Threat Intelligence from GIAC Certifications in January 2018.
