Arlean Dawes is a Community School Director working with IS 349: School of Math, Science, & Technology in New York City. As the Community School Director, Arlean is responsible for the day-to-day management of the community school strategy in collaboration with school leadership and community partners. Prior to joining CSS, Arlean worked on developing educational programs with Fundación Bolivia Digna, a non-profit organization in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Arlean has also worked with arts and museum education organizations throughout New York City and as a Spanish Interpreter for the New York State Unified Court System. Arlean holds a master's degree in Latin American and Caribbean studies from New York University, a bachelor's degree in international studies and Spanish from Texas A&M University, and is a New York State-certified Interpreter.
