Shahana Chattaraj

Visiting Fellow at Centre for Policy Research

Shahana Chattaraj is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in public affairs and urban policy. Currently serving as the Director of Research at the WRI Center for Equitable Development and the Director of Research Data and Impact at WRI India since July 2019, Shahana also holds a position as a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Policy Research since June 2018. Previous roles include a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, and a Post-Doctoral Scholar/Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Shahana has also worked as a Consultant for the World Bank Group and as a Programme Specialist for the United Nations Population Fund. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Public Affairs/Urban Policy from Princeton University, a Master's in International Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
