Carl O'Connell

Carl O'Connell has over 30 years of experience working in leadership positions in healthcare and 25 years in the medical device arena. Carl has worked to transform and grow his companies into leaders in their respective markets as well as establishing leadership platforms and commercial success in Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT and Dentistry. Carl was President of Carl Zeiss Surgical, the leader in Surgical Microscopy in Neurosurgery. He most recently worked as CEO of Xtant Medical, Global Vice President of Marketing for Wright Medical as the leader for Foot and Ankle, the fastest growing segment in Orthopedics. Carl also served as President for the US healthcare division of the Japanese conglomerate, ITOCHU Corporation, and previously as Global Vice President for Stryker Spine. His responsibilities have spanned from leadership development, global marketing, sales, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, corporate quality systems and research and product and business development functions. Carl brings broad knowledge and very strong relationships in this industry. This is complimented by his operational ability to deliver year-on-year growth by creating and executing strategy and developing organizations and bringing together the appropriate players and talent to deliver his goals. Carl received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and an M.B.A. from Mount St. Mary's College, Maryland.
