Job description

Ceres is seeking 8 candidates for a 7-month High School Internship Program, to begin in early June of 2024. 

The first 9 weeks of the Farm to Community Food Educator Internship will provide hands-on learning and classes about growing food, nutrition, cooking and a healthy food system.  You will learn about public speaking, giving feedback, and working in a team.  This first part of the internship will require a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week (June - August). 

After the intensive summer program, in the fall you will harvest and prepare produce to distribute weekly in a clinic along with providing cooking demos and nutrition classes. This will require a commitment of 6-8 hours per week from mid August through early December. 

Because of the length of this internship, we are actively recruiting local high school Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who plan to stay in the Sonoma County area after graduation - must be 16 years of age as of June 2024.

Transportation will be provided as part of the internship if it is needed. 

Must be available Monday - Thursday during the summer and on Thursdays after school  and Saturdays during the school year. Must be able to work physically and be comfortable working outdoors in the sun. 

Ceres is following the guidance and requirements of the health departments of Sonoma and Marin counties, the state of California, and the CDC.
