Amanda J. Sharp

CTE Curriculum Consultant at CEV Multimedia

Amanda Sharp, Curriculum Consultant, grew up on a 1795 original land grant of Alexander McMillan in East Knox County. Portions of the land grant are still held by family members including Sharp and her husband, Gary. She taught in Knox County for 27 years as a CTE instructor in business & marketing.

Throughout her tenure, she was named teacher of the year at the school level as well as high school teacher of the year at the district level. She holds several certifications in the business community. As a previous business owner, she understands the importance of basic business skills needed for all students.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in technological and adult education from the University of Tennessee, and a master’s in human resource development from her alma mater. Sharp has been involved in several education initiatives. As department chair, she helped start a school bank and revived the school store at her last school.

She has been involved In FBLA and DECA chapters with many regional, state and national winners. She has had several students become state FBLA officers in Tennessee.

Sharp says her favorite thing about teaching was watching the “aha” moment when students fully understand a concept they have struggled through. Watching students at regional, state and national conferences grow professionally makes her proud to be a part of developing responsible and productive citizens.

Retiring in May 2018 left time for Sharp to enjoy retirement before joining iCEV. She can continue her career by introducing teachers to iCEV. Sharp says if she had been introduced to iCEV prior to retirement she might have continued teaching for a few more years. She believes iCEV is a game changer for teachers.
