Annie Phan

Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at Charles Armstrong School

Annie Phan has worked in various roles in the education sector since 2012. From 2012 to 2016, they were a Facilities Manager, Ethnic Theme Associate at Okada, Asian American Studies Liaison, Listen to the Silence 2015 Conference Co-Chair, Ethnic Theme Associate at Casa Zapata, and Freshman Intern at Stanford University. In 2016, they were a Teacher Resident at the San Francisco Teacher Residency, a Student Teacher at Columbia Middle School, and a CSRE32SI Co-Instructor at the Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity. In 2015, they were a Group Leader/Teaching Assistant at Bosque School. From 2017 to 2021, they were a Racial Equity Grant Writer and Project Manager, High School Teacher, Union Building Committee Representative, Culture and Climate Team Lead, and Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach at The Academy - SF @McAteer. In 2019, they were a US History Distance Learning Curriculum Developer and Humanizing History and the Social Sciences Curriculum Developer at the San Francisco Unified School District, as well as a Summer High School Health Teacher at the same institution. In 2021, they became a Humanities Teacher at Rooftop Alternative PK-8 School, and in 2022 they were appointed as the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at Charles Armstrong School.

Annie Phan began their educational journey by attending Stanford University from 2012-2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity and English. Annie then attended Stanford University Graduate School of Education from 2016-2017, where they earned a Master of Education. Currently, they are attending Santa Clara University, where they are pursuing a Doctor of Education in Social Justice Leadership.
