Èric Ferrer Mallofré

Èric Ferrer Mallofré has a diverse work experience in the field of organic chemistry and drug discovery. Èric is currently working as a Principal Research Scientist at Charnwood Discovery since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Research Chemist II at the same company from September 2020 to August 2022.

Before joining Charnwood Discovery, Èric worked at Eurofins Villapharma Research from 2014 to 2019. Èric started as a Junior Scientist in December 2014 and then progressed to the role of Senior Scientist, where they were responsible for managing the lab and developing various drug discovery projects. Their responsibilities included organizing and supervising a team, providing updates to clients, managing the delivery of requested compounds, and troubleshooting.

Èric also gained research experience at Esteve / UAB as a Research Scientist in Organic Synthesis from 2011 to 2013. Èric worked on synthesizing organic compounds for medicinal chemistry purposes.

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) / UAB from 2010 to 2011, Èric conducted research in the field of bioengineering.

Èric's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, completed between 2005 and 2010. Their doctoral research focused on the synthesis of cyclohexenyl nucleoside analogues as potential antiviral drugs.
