Elaine Vasquez, FCCA

Elaine Vasquez, FCCA, has a diverse and extensive work experience. Elaine currently holds the position of Director, Financial Control at Checkout.com, starting in August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Finance at United Insurance Brokers Limited from May 2021 to August 2022. From March 2020 to May 2021, Elaine worked as the Financial Controller (Global) at GSA - Global Student Accommodation.

Elaine's previous roles include Financial Controller, Head of Financial Reporting, Head of Claims, and Senior Financial Accountant at Advantage Insurance Company Limited, Gibraltar from June 2016 to March 2020. Before that, they worked at Hilton Worldwide as an Internal Audit Manager, EMEA from January 2016 to June 2016, and as a Senior Internal Auditor from January 2014 to January 2016.

Elaine also has experience as a Business Planning Analyst at Premier Foods from April 2013 to January 2014. Elaine began their professional career at Deloitte, where they started as a Business Advisory & Audit Associate in May 2011 and transitioned to the Audit department in September 2011. During their time at Deloitte, Elaine gained experience in various financial activities such as the production of management accounts, outsourcing activities, on-site external auditing, and reviewing internal audit findings. Additionally, they actively participated in the firm's charity committee.

Prior to Deloitte, Elaine worked as a Finance and Administration Officer at the Gibraltar Electricity Authority from July 2010 to January 2011. Elaine had earlier internships at Credit Suisse, where they focused on compliance policies and fraud detection, and at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an intern.

Elaine Vasquez, FCCA, has a diverse education history with qualifications in various areas. In 2006, they pursued a BSc (Hons) in Accounting & Finance from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, specializing in areas such as finance, international business, investment management, economics, management, and accounting. This academic journey concluded in 2009. In 2011, Elaine obtained a Certificate in Introduction to Securities and Investment from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments. Moreover, in 2014, they became a Fellow of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and a Member of The Institute of Internal Auditors.
