Daniel McCarter

Dr. Daniel McCarter has a vast work experience in the medical field. Daniel started their career at the University of Virginia in 1990, where they held various positions, including Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Vice-Chair for Clinical Affairs. In 2006, they became the Medical Director for Regional Primary Care at University Physicians Group. In 2009, they joined the University of Virginia Health System, taking on roles such as Medical Director for Primary Care BeWell and Associate CMO Ambulatory Services. In 2017, they moved to ChenMed, where they served as the Market Chief Medical Officer for JenCare Richmond before becoming the National Director of Primary Care Advancement. Throughout their career, Dr. McCarter has shown dedication to advancing primary care and educating future physicians about value-based care.

Daniel McCarter, MD FAAFP attended the University of Virginia, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology in 1983. Daniel later earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1987. Following this, they completed their Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia Department of Family Medicine from 1987 to 1990. In 2012, Dr. McCarter participated in the Fellowship Program in Health Care Leadership at The Advisory Board Company, focusing on Health/Health Care Administration/Management, which they completed in 2014.
