Gregory Douds has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Gregory started their career as a Finance Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency in 1983 and later worked as a Staff CPA at Lantz & Associates in 1989. Gregory then became a CPA at UMWA Health and Retirement Funds from 1990 to 1996. In 1997, they worked as an Attorney at Law at Tate & Bywater, specializing in trial law and various legal matters. From 1998 to 2002, they established Gregory T. Douds, Chartered, practicing as an Attorney at Law, before joining Deming, Parker, Hoffman, Campbell & Daly, L.L.C. as an Associate Attorney. Gregory later worked at Flint, Connolly & Walker, LLP as an Associate Attorney from 2002 to 2008. In 2009, they became Of Counsel at Barbara Parker & Associates, LLC. Furthermore, in the same year, they joined the Magistrate Court for Cherokee County as the Chief Associate Judge, handling civil claims, landlord/tenant cases, criminal hearings, and collections matters. In 2014, they also served as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, a lawyer for the Georgia State Defense Force, a component of the Georgia Department of Defense.
Gregory Douds completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland from 1982 to 1983. Later, they attended The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law.
In addition to their formal education, Gregory Douds has obtained various certifications and admissions. In 1988, they became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) under the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy. Gregory then obtained their Attorney Admission from the Court of Appeals of Maryland in December 1995. From there, they achieved Attorney Admissions from the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals in December 2002, followed by admission to the State Bar of Georgia as an attorney in October 2001. Gregory received their admission to the United States Supreme Court as an attorney in October 2003. Additionally, they became a Certified Public Accountant through the Georgia State Board of Accountancy in December 2010 and obtained admission to the United States Tax Court as an attorney in March 1997.
