Ty Kern

Ty Kern joined Cherry Creek Mortgage in October of 2021 as executive managing director. A 30-year mortgage industry veteran, Kern will focus on using automation to reduce the time and effort required to manufacture loans, optimize efficiencies in loan processing, and consistently improve the borrower experience.

Prior to Cherry Creek, Kern served as executive managing director – national production for Sun West Mortgage Company in Newport Beach, California. There, he oversaw all facets of loan production and managed a team of 300 employees, including originators and processors. In 2020, Sun West closed nearly $3 billion of loans and is on pace to close more than $4 billion this year. Before Sun West, Kern held executive positions at several other mortgage companies, mainly in retail loan production.
