Tess Cavalieri

Director of Innovation at Chew

Tess Cavalieri's work experience includes a role as Director of Innovation at Chew, where they focused on integrating design thinking into the food product development process and exploring new ingredient applications. Prior to that, they worked as an Innovation Process Manager and Senior Food Scientist at the same company, leading the development of pre-revenue ingredient application initiatives and securing over $200M in funding. Tess also has experience as a Food Scientist at Chew and as a Research Assistant at Invisible Sentinel, Inc., where they developed detection assays for food and alcoholic products. Additionally, they worked as a Product Developer and Project Lead at Rephyll Products, where they played a key role in winning the IFSTA & MARS product development competition. Tess has also served as a Wilderness Guide at Northwaters Langskib Wilderness Programs.

Tess Cavalieri completed their education with a Master of Science (MS) degree in Product Design & Development Management from Northwestern University. Tess pursued this degree from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they attended McGill University where they obtained two Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degrees. The first degree was in Food Science and Technology, which they completed by 2017. The second degree was in Human Nutrition, also completed by 2017. Tess Cavalieri completed their high school education at Westtown School. Additionally, they obtained two certifications: they became Dare to Lead Trained from Dare to Lead™ Trained in October 2019, and they became a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) in January 2016.
