Meghan Montemurro has a diverse work experience in sports journalism. Meghan is currently working as a Cubs beat writer for the Chicago Tribune Media Group since February 2021. Prior to that, they were a Phillies beat writer for The Athletic from January 2018 to February 2021. Meghan also worked as a sports writer for The News Journal Media Group from July 2014 to September 2017. Before that, they covered the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, as well as the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, and prep sports in McHenry County as a sports writer for The Northwest Herald from August 2010 to July 2014. Meghan also had a role as a freelance writer for The Northwest Herald from November 2009 to July 2010. Additionally, they worked as a stringer for The Associated Press from July 2010 to July 2014. Earlier in their career, they held multiple positions at The Daily Illini, including Assistant Sports Editor, Assistant Assignment Editor, and Sports Writer from December 2005 to March 2009. Meghan also worked as a stringer for The News-Gazette, covering prep football games, from September 2008 to November 2008. Lastly, they were a sports reporter/anchor for WPGU 107.1 from December 2005 to February 2007.

Meghan Montemurro completed their undergraduate education from 2005 to 2010 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Meghan received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in News-Editorial Journalism.
