Mavis Laing

Vp/executive Director - Impact Leadership Development Program at Chicago Urban League

Mavis Laing has a diverse work experience spanning several years. From 2014 to present, they have held the position of VP/Executive Director at the IMPACT Leadership Development Program in the Chicago Urban League. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2014, they served as an Executive and Strategic Operational Leader at Nonprofit Agencies, where they also held various roles within the Board of the Primo Center for Women and Children and the Chicago Chapter of the Links, Inc.

From 2009 to 2012, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana, where they successfully managed operational functions and achieved growth in cookie sales. Mavis also served as the Chief Strategy Officer at the same organization, responsible for developing the strategic plan for a merger of seven legacy councils.

Before joining the Girl Scouts, Mavis Laing held the position of Vice President of Volunteer Services at the American Cancer Society - Illinois Division from 2003 to 2008. Mavis has also worked at Xerox Corporation, holding roles such as Vice President of Sales Operations in the Central Region and VP/GM of Xerox of Houston Texas.

Mavis Laing has obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Arizona State University. Their educational background also includes a Master of Arts degree in Speech and Language Pathology from New York University.
