Mikael Petrosyan MD, MBA has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Mikael started their career as a Pediatric Surgery Research Fellow at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) from June 2007 to May 2009. Mikael then pursued a General Surgery Residency at the University of Southern California from June 2004 to June 2011.
Dr. Petrosyan joined Children's National Hospital in July 2011 and has held several roles there. Mikael started as a Pediatric Surgery Fellow from July 2011 to June 2013. Mikael then became an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine from June 2013 to June 2019. During this time, they also assumed the role of Director of the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship Program from October 2019 onwards. In November 2019, they were appointed as the Associate Chief of General & Thoracic Surgery, and in December 2023, they took on the position of Surgical Director of Perioperative Services.

Mikael Petrosyan MD, MBA received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a minor in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of Southern California in 1999. Mikael then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science from 2000 to 2004. Later, they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The George Washington University from 2016 to 2019.
