Ashley Olvera

Program Manager at Chinese Community Center

Ashley Olvera has a diverse work experience spanning different sectors and roles. Ashley began their career as a Summer Intern at The Posse Foundation in 2017. During their time at Colby College, they worked as a Student Health on Campus (SHOC) Peer Health Educator and Co-President from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, they served as an Advanced Computer Consultant, providing technical support and training to faculty and staff.

In 2021, Ashley joined Communities in Schools of Southeast Harris and Brazoria County Inc as a Site Coordinator. In this role, they supported at-risk students at Pasadena High School by addressing their academic, behavioral, attendance, and social services needs. Ashley conducted research, collaborated with stakeholders, and organized various programs and services.

Ashley also volunteered for a brief period in 2021 at Jolt Action & Rep. Christina Morales. Currently, Ashley holds the position of Program Manager at the Chinese Community Center since 2022. Ashley manages the Wellness Program, overseeing the well-being of senior citizens by coordinating classes, providing newsletters, and offering direct services to members.

Throughout their career, Ashley has demonstrated their ability to manage programs, address community needs, conduct research, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide support and services.

Ashley Olvera attended Colby College from 2016 to 2020, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International/Global Studies.
