Sheera Tamura, MSW, MHP, LAAC, currently serves as an Anti-Bias Anti-Hate Intern at CISC, where efforts focus on combating hate incidents within communities and supporting the Coalition Against Hate & Bias. In addition, Sheera is actively involved with the Asian Counseling and Referral Service as a Youth Civic Organizing Team Member and Pathways to our Future Program Facilitator, empowering Asian and Asian American youth through civic engagement initiatives. As a Project Manager for Dear Asian Youth, Sheera creates opportunities for dialogue around societal issues within the Asian community. Leadership roles include National Youth Representative and Seattle Chapter Board Member for the Japanese American Citizens League, where Sheera engages youth in civil rights advocacy. Previous experience includes various positions with the Seattle University Japanese Student Association and Circle K International, alongside internships that provided essential skills in program services and clinical research. Sheera holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Seattle University.

CISC helps immigrants throughout King County achieve success in their new community by providing information, referral, advocacy, social, and support services. Our team of more than 120 bilingual staff serves the Chinese immigrant community and immigrants from Eastern Europe, Latin America, and other parts of Asia. We serve the entire family with our early childhood education, youth development, family support, senior & disabled adult services, and health care access programs at our office locations in Seattle, Bellevue, Renton, and Redmond and numerous outreach sites such as community and senior centers.
