Tara Cantu

Tara Cantu has extensive work experience in various fields. Tara is currently working at Choice in Aging, where they serve as the Vice President of Operations. Prior to this role, they were the Chief of Staff at the same company.

In 2021, they worked at The CHAT Project as Co-Director.

From 2019 to 2021, Tara worked at Rubicon Programs, first as a Restorative Justice Program Circle Keeper, where they developed and implemented strategies for restorative justice practices. Tara then became a WIOA Career Coach, providing direct services to Rubicon participants.

From 2017 to 2019, they were an Executive Assistant to the President & CEO at Choice in Aging, where they provided administrative support and oversaw special projects.

Tara's work experience also includes roles at Contra Costa County. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Secretary - Advanced Level in the Health, Housing, and Homeless Services division. Within the same time period, they also served as the Homeless Court Coordinator and an Experienced Level Clerk at Contra Costa's East Bay Works Career Center.

Their earliest work experience was as a Research Assistant for Mara Landers, PhD, where they performed data analysis and assisted with grading.

Tara Cantu earned a Bachelor's degree in Community Advocacy and Social Policy from ASU Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions, completing their studies from 2017 to 2020.
