Kate Massot McCormack

Kate Massot McCormack has a diverse work experience in design and creative consulting. Kate started their career as a Senior Designer at Kaplan Test Prep in 2014. Kate then worked as a Freelance Designer and Voice Over Artist for Volotea from 2012 to 2015. Kate joined Cake & Arrow (Previously Alexander Interactive) as a Senior Designer in 2015, where they collaborated with various teams to create state-of-the-art experiences. Kate also oversaw the redesign of Cake&Arrow's brand identity and UI/UX design.

In 2016, Kate worked as a Freelance Art Director and Senior Designer at SapientNitro, where they designed web, app, and out-of-home experiences for brands like Giant Eagle, Godiva, BedBath&Beyond, and Tory Burch Sport. Kate also managed and supervised design teams and conceptualized an app for Giant Eagle.

Kate joined XO Group Inc. in 2017 as a Product Designer, where they played a key role in creating and launching new features for TheKnot. Kate conducted user interviews, built prototypes for testing, and contributed to atomic design and illustration systems.

From 2017 to 2019, Kate worked at Feather, first as the Head of Design and later as the Director of Brand & Experience. During their time at Feather, they developed the brand strategy and oversaw the creation of all brand materials. Kate also hired and managed a team of designers, copywriters, photographers, producers, and strategists.

Kate then joined The New York Times in 2020 as a Lead Designer. Kate led the redesign of the NYTimes end-to-end payflow experience and subscription landing pages, collaborating with cross-functional partners in Brand, Marketing, Product, and Engineering.

In 2021, Kate became the Design Director at Rent The Runway, where they were responsible for leading the design team. Kate recently joined ChowNow as their Design Director in 2023 where their current role is ongoing.

Kate Massot McCormack has completed a Management Essentials program from Harvard Business School Online in 2021. Kate holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Design and Applied Arts from Christopher Newport University. Kate Massot McCormack also has knowledge in Studio Art and Art History, which they acquired from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2009, they obtained a Research Certification from National Geographic.
