Sam I. has a diverse work experience in various roles related to information security and cyber security.

From 2022 to the present, Sam has been the Head of Information Security at Cifas, where they lead the ISO27001 accredited Information Security Management System. Before joining Deloitte, Sam worked at PA Consulting from 2017 to 2020. Initially, they served as a Consultant in the Digital Trust and Cyber Security team, bringing their experience in cyber security, data privacy, resilience, and IT support to address business issues. Later, they worked as a Digital Consultant Analyst, working on forensic investigations and collaborating with clients in the public and private sectors.

Sam's career in cyber forensics began at 7Safe in 2014, where they held several roles. As part of the Cyber Forensics team, they provided eDiscovery services and conducted data acquisition and analysis for dispute resolution, investigations, and due diligence. Sam also worked in digital forensics and cyber incident response, collaborating with law enforcement, lawyers, and private clients. Additionally, Sam spent time working with the sales and operations team at 7Safe, assisting clients in protecting against cyber security attacks and completing audits.

Before entering the field of information security, Sam worked as a Postman and Driver at Royal Mail from 2010 to 2014.

Sam I. began their education at Hertford Regional College from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a Level 3 IT Practioner degree in PC Hardware and Software Support. Following that, from 2011 to 2014, Sam I. attended Anglia Ruskin University and earned a BSc in Information Security and Forensic Computing with a field of study in Digital Forensics.

In addition to their formal education, Sam I. has obtained several certifications throughout their career. They acquired the certifications of Certified Forensic Investigation Practitioner in December 2014 and Certified Forensic Investigation Specialist in June 2015, both from 7Safe Limited. They also achieved the certifications of Certified Data Collection Technician in May 2016 and Certified Malware Investigator in June 2016, both from 7Safe. Furthermore, Sam I. became a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in March 2019, and obtained the certification of Certified ISO 27001 Implementation Practitioner from 7Safe in October 2019. They also became a Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E) from IAPP in October 2021. Sam I. expanded their expertise by becoming a OneTrust Certified Privacy Professional in November 2020.

Outside of their field, Sam I. has obtained certifications related to their involvement in football refereeing. They became a Level 4 - Supply League Referee/Contributory League Assistant from the London Football Association in August 2016, and a Level 5 Futsal Referee from the Cambridgeshire Football Association in February 2014. Furthermore, Sam I. holds a Child Workforce Football Referee (U18) Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Services Limited, but the month and year of obtaining this certification are not specified.
