Job description

Compensation: $75,000-82,000/year, Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and Relocation Assistance 

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

Lead engine test executive as a test engineer including structural engine tests (MER - Mounted Equipment Resonance, Durability) and non-structural tests (E.g., lube system performance, engine piston and liner tests, etc.) to validation new engine designs

Will work with a large group of upstream, peer and downstream teams on test execution.

Typical task breakdown:

  • Pretest: collect test requirements and gauge maps,
  • Work with lab team on test execution and data acquisition using systems like eDAQ, LMS …
  • Perform test data analysis,
    • Structure tests

      • Perform modal testing for engine system and components.
      • Perform vibration severity assessment, weld/bolted joint analysis, parent material fatigue analysis by following standard test procedures.
    • Non-structure tests

      • Perform engine system performance analysis including temperature, pressure, flow, vibration and wear/endurance etc.
    • Communicate test results and recommendations to internal customers including design engineers and engine system validation leads

Interaction with team:

  • Will work with team lead
  • Will work with design engineers and validation engineers on the internal customer side
  • Wil also work with lab technicians and operators

Work environment:

  • Mainly in engine testing Lab. Office will be in a separate room in the same building

  • Potential for travel to other field testing locations

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Three to five years engineering experience required (combination of internship experience and hands on work experience).

  • Desired: Master engineering degree

Technical Skills

  • NEEDS TO HAVE Engine TEST EXPERIENCE

  • Top Skills: Engine knowledge, structure/fatigue knowledge including vibration/durability, test instrumentation, data processing experience

  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines and familiar with dynamics/vibration development/testing/analysis

  • Strong initiative understanding of customer needs and product application.

  • Will need to manage multiple projects concurrently.
