Angela Thorburn has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of HR and L&D. Angela has worked as a HR/People Skills Trainer, Coach, and Facilitator at Aspire HR Ltd, where they offered practical learning and development solutions for organizations of all sizes. Their expertise includes solving HR challenges, raising self-awareness for leaders, and rebuilding career confidence. Angela also worked as a Director & Principal Consultant at Aspire HR Ltd.

Angela has also served as an Associate Learning Consultant & Trainer at KSL Training and as an Associate Trainer/Tutor/Assessor at CIPD. Additionally, Angela worked as an Interim HR Business Partner at the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, where they provided their services as a contractor for Aspire HR Ltd. Angela also worked as an Associate HR consultant for People Business HR Consultancy.

Angela has worked as the Global Head of HR at STI Limited, a privately owned Contract Electronics Manufacturer. In this role, they implemented various initiatives such as a new performance appraisal process, a company-wide redundancy process, and TUPE processes. Angela also initiated internship programs and a graduate development program, and up-skilled managers through training and coaching.

Before that, Angela served as an HR Business Partner at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where they partnered with line managers to increase employee performance and productivity. Angela achieved cost savings through changing staff shift patterns and reduced sickness absence through training programs for managers. Angela also developed HR policies and procedures for the new trust and managed the Divisional HR Team.

Angela has also held interim positions as an ER Consultant at Sanofi Pasteur MSD and as a TUPE Project Analyst at Serco. Angela started their career as the European HR Manager, handling HR services for the European HQ, Nordic office, and corporate functions across EMEA at Bausch & Lomb. Angela led transfer and outsourcing processes, delivered HR strategies, and generated cost savings in recruitment.

Angela Thorburn earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of West London in 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a BA Hons degree from Bangor University between 1986 and 1990. Angela has also acquired multiple additional certifications, including being a Certified Online Learning Facilitator (COLF) from The LPI (Learning and Performance Institute) in July 2020, an MBTI Step II Practitioner from OPP in August 2017, an Accredited Senior Coach from IIC&M in March 2016, a Diploma in Personal Coaching from Achievement Specialists Limited in June 2014, and a Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching from AoEC - The Academy of Executive Coaching in March 2014. Additionally, they became an MBTI Step 1 Practitioner from OPP in 2011.
