Programme And Systems Lead at CIPD

Jemeela Quraishi has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and organizations. Jemeela started their career at the National Physical Laboratory as a Higher Research Scientist from May 2002 to December 2005, and later served as an Educational Outreach Executive from January 2006 to May 2007.

Jemeela then transitioned to STEMNET, where they worked as a Programme Manager for the HM Government funded STEM Ambassadors volunteer Programme from June 2007 to September 2011. Their responsibilities included managing around 25,000 volunteers across the UK and developing induction training for new STEM Ambassador volunteers.

From October 2011 to June 2014, Jemeela held the position of Senior Project Manager at STEMNET where they led the expansion of the national STEM Ambassadors Programme and oversaw the STEM Challenges educational project in collaboration with London 2012.

In 2014, they joined the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as a Development Manager for the Steps Ahead mentoring programme. Jemeela was responsible for its development and management, providing one-to-one mentoring sessions for jobseekers to improve their employability skills and find work. Later, they became the Senior Development Manager for the CIPD's volunteer mentoring programmes, including the member-to-member mentoring and Steps Ahead programmes.

Jemeela's dedication to social impact led their to assume the role of Senior Manager - Social Impact at CIPD from June 2019 to June 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Programme and Systems Lead at CIPD, starting in July 2022.

In addition to their professional endeavors, Jemeela also participated in the Leaders Plus Fellowship in 2020 offered by Leaders Plus.

Jemeela Quraishi completed their MSc Distinction degree in Microwave Engineering and Wireless Subsystems Design from the University of Surrey from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a BSc Hons degree in Physics with Astrophysics from The University of Manchester from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Cybersecurity at Work from LinkedIn in December 2020.
