Marco Gaudina, PhD

Marco Gaudina, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Marco is currently a member of the CTS-ICT Scientific Technical Committee Board, a position they assumed in November 2020. In 2012, they founded and became the CEO of Circle Garage, a company specializing in sensors networks, robotics, and interaction. Marco also served as a Professor at ITS-ICT Genova starting in January 2016.

In terms of industry experience, Marco worked as the EMEA ICT Manufacturing Industry 4.0 Team Technical Leader at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles from June 2017 to December 2017. Marco was also the CTO of Singular Perception, a VR startup, from May 2016 to December 2016. Their responsibilities included VR developments coordination, VR technologies scouting, and team software engineering coordination.

Earlier in their career, Marco was a Senior IT Project Manager at Università degli Studi di Genova, managing the eLaparo4D project from June 2012 to June 2015. Prior to that, they pursued a PhD at IIT - Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia from January 2009 to May 2012. Marco also worked as an MES Engineer at Hyla Soft from November 2006 to January 2009 and as an MES Consultant for Kraft Foods at Siemens from November 2006 to June 2008. Their career began with an internship at Universiteit Twente from February 2006 to June 2006.

Marco Gaudina, PhD, has a diverse education history in the fields of Human Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality, Robotics, and Entrepreneurship. Marco earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Robotics and Automation from Università degli Studi di Genova, where they studied from 2000 to 2006. In 2009, they began their doctoral studies at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, specializing in Human Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality, and Robotics. Marco successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2012. In 2017, Marco Gaudina participated in the KAUFFMAN FASTTRACK program, where they received recognition for their entrepreneurial achievements. Their educational background reflects a strong foundation in robotics and automation, as well as extensive knowledge and experience in human-computer interaction, virtual reality, and entrepreneurship.
