Senior Software Engineer - SRE - Devops at CircleCI

Fernando Martin Garcia has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Fernando is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer - SRE - DevOps at CircleCI since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Finning as a DevOps Lead for my.finning.com from June 2020 to May 2021, and as a DevOps Engineer from August 2018 to June 2020. At Finning, they were responsible for working on a platform that involved handling IOT sensor data of Finning fleet & parts returns, utilizing technologies such as Azure, Angular, Kubernetes, Microservices, Scrum Management, CI & CD, git, Linux, Angular, and React.

Before joining Finning, Fernando worked as a Cloud Developer at Ingram Micro Cloud from April 2015 to January 2018. In this role, they worked on a Cloud Store project that integrated cloud providers, collaborating with an international team and serving a Telco client. Fernando gained experience in Agile methodologies during this time.

Prior to their role at Ingram Micro Cloud, Fernando worked as a Full Stack Developer at Santander Global Tech from September 2013 to April 2015.

Fernando's early work experience includes an internship at Grupo Fagor from October 2012 to August 2013, where they worked on Linux Embedded systems. Their responsibilities included creating and maintaining software consistency for new versions using Java, C, and SVN version control. Fernando also gained experience in Arm software development during this internship.

Fernando Martin Garcia completed a Licentiate degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Cantabria from 2008 to 2013. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Univerza v Mariboru from 2011 to 2012. In terms of certifications, Fernando obtained the following: Certified Incident Responder, PagerDuty API Certification, and PagerDuty Foundational Practitioner from PagerDuty in July 2021. Fernando also obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in June 2020. Prior to that, they received the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from Scrum Alliance in September 2019. In March 2019, they obtained the Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification from WorkSafeBC. Lastly, in May 2015, Fernando obtained the Advance Certificate in English (CAE) from the University of Cambridge.
