Ian Hughes Frsa

Ian Hughes FRSA has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ian began their career at the Glasgow School of Art as the President of the GSA Students Association from 1985 to 1987. Ian then worked as a Regional Director at the Council of the European Union from 1987 to 1991. Following this, they served as the CEO of the Queens Cross Group from 1991 to 2001. Ian then joined CREATION Ltd as their CEO, where they worked from 2001 to 2009. After that, they were appointed as the CEO of Scottish Enterprise, a position they held from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Glasgow Caledonian University in the Directorate role. Currently, they are the Strategic Director Scotland at CITB, starting from 2016.

Ian Hughes FRSA obtained a BA (Hons) in Planning from The Glasgow School of Art between 1981 and 1985.
